The countdown has finally almost wound down. We leave on Tuesday. Everything we take with us has to fit into nine rubbermaid tubs and a suitcase for our checked baggage (max. 50 pounds each), along with our several carry-ons. I noticed while we were double-checking all of our tubs (some of which have been across the ocean and back a couple of times now, but are still going strong) that there seemed to be an inordinate amount of toys in them, most notably stuffed animals. And this was after we had given away/sold/packed away quite a number of Littlest Pet Shop/Webkinz/assorted toys. I’m not quite sure how we garnered such a collection.
English Camp starts about a week and a half after we arrive. We’re a little up in the air as to how much we’ll be able to participate as a family, but at least I’ll be taking Hannah and Matthew for parts of it. Tricia will be continuing to set up our new apartment during at least part of the time. The camps are in Vác again this year, which is about 45 minutes north of Budapest by car. On my most recent trip to Hungary I discovered that there is a new fast train to Vác that only takes 25 minutes.
The kids are getting more excited about returning to Hungary by the minute. I’m looking forward to seeing how I can fit back into the team which has changed from when we were there before. There is lots of work to be done, and I’m excited about doing my part.
